Settrax Tracks Hospital Equipment And Keeps Patients Safe With Twilio’s Authy

Settrax provides cloud-based software and kiosk hardware that manages the flow of millions of dollars of surgical and medical equipment into and out of hospitals, where accurate tracking directly affects patient safety. As Settrax scaled to serve 54 hospitals and 5,000+ users, they faced a critical security and compliance challenge: users were sharing accounts and credentials, risking patient data, regulatory noncompliance, and lost revenue.

Settrax implemented Twilio 2FA (Authy soft-token), rolling it out in phases to a pilot group before full deployment. The flexible, offline-capable authentication stopped account piggybacking, strengthened compliance and auditability, and was easy to integrate—helping Settrax reliably track 100,000+ surgical cases while supporting continued growth and new features.
