Orangeapple transforms its programming courses to a reliable and easy-to-use online platform for children in taiwan

OrangeApple is Taiwan’s largest children’s programming academy. When the Covid-19 pandemic forced a move from in-person classes to remote learning, CEO Kevin Shu led a search for a simple, reliable, child-friendly platform after trials with other vendors found them too complex or unreliable.

OrangeApple built its own learning platform using Twilio’s Programmable Video and SMS APIs, migrating in about a week and now using roughly 14,000 video hours and 8,000 SMS messages per month to reach 10,000 children. The new system eliminated frequent disconnections, made onboarding immediate for children and parents, improved communications and logging for engineers, lowered operating costs (enabling reduced fees), and provided a foundation to expand into additional subjects.
