Media Temple, a web hosting and cloud services provider powering 1.5 million websites for 125,000 users across 100 countries, faced an urgent outage that required notifying hundreds of customers within hours. An engineer built a Twilio-based IVR application in about an hour to place hundreds of simultaneous automated calls with an option to connect to support.
