When Douglas Olsen, then a CIO at a major footwear brand, was caring for his sick mother he found himself repeating the same health updates to different people dozens of times a day. Frustrated that no existing tool could simplify this emotionally draining task, and motivated by his mother’s suggestion that he build a solution, he founded Kmunic8 to solve the messy communication problem while honoring her memory.
Kmunic8 lets users create contact groups and programmatically send the same update across multiple channels—Twilio SMS, Twilio Voice calls, and email—in one action, automating the tedious “telephone” routine. Launched to positive user feedback and now backed by the Twilio Fund, the company is growing its product and mission-driven impact, pledging 10% of profits to the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society.
