Volunteer Vision is a Munich-based social startup that delivers corporate digital mentoring to connect employees, NGOs, and underserved populations worldwide. Faced with the stigma that online mentorship is “only digital,” geographic barriers, diverse language and technical abilities, and the need for a low-cost, scalable, and GDPR-compliant video solution, the organization needed a partner to create a simple, reliable platform that could truly build relationships and improve employability.

Using Twilio, Volunteer Vision built a custom virtual classroom with a pared-down, color-coded interface and global video infrastructure, then added automated, two-way SMS reminders and scheduling via Programmable SMS. The result: a stable, affordable platform serving 100+ organizations and thousands of mentees, faster support and confirmations, demonstrable job-placement outcomes, and the ability to scale impact while lowering costs.
