A Twilio Case Study
goUrban, a mobility software provider that started with shared mopeds in Vienna and expanded across Europe and beyond, needed a faster, more reliable way to handle customer communication, verification, and account setup as it scaled globally. Its previous process was slow and cumbersome, with riders sometimes waiting up to 48 hours to be approved; goUrban turned to Twilio and its Programmable Messaging service to improve the user experience.
Twilio implemented SMS-based notifications, alerts, sign-up/sign-in verification, and identity validation for goUrban’s platform, including features like ride reminders and location-based “radars.” The results included faster authentication time reduced from 2 minutes to 15 seconds and more than 190,000 new SMS user registrations per month in summer 2020, helping goUrban deliver a simpler, more secure, and more scalable mobility experience.
