A Twilio Case Study
Docway is a Brazilian telehealth company born from a simple idea—to bring primary care into patients’ homes through humanized, tech-enabled visits. As it shifted to a B2B2C model serving large healthcare operators, Docway faced the challenge of reliably connecting doctors and patients by video while scaling securely across a growing national network of providers and users.
Docway selected Twilio for its stability, security, and unified communications stack, deploying Programmable Video, Flex, SMS and SendGrid to centralize operations. The platform allowed rapid adaptation during COVID-19—going from ~1,000 video visits per month in 2019 to 65,000 in a single month and handling 5,000+ calls per day—while supporting a network of 3,600 doctors across 360 cities without sacrificing service quality.
