Tradesy, the luxury fashion marketplace, wanted to improve buyer conversion rates and better understand shopper behavior beyond the limited, aggregated insights they were getting from Google Analytics. Building an in-house system to consolidate data across web, mobile, and transactions would have taken too much time and engineering effort.
Tradesy chose Twilio Segment as its Customer Data Platform, using collection libraries and iOS/Android SDKs to capture granular user data and send it to Amazon S3 for analysis and machine learning. With Twilio, Tradesy increased tracked data points from 5 to 100, cut time to add new events from weeks or months to minutes, and saved about 6 months of engineering time while improving product recommendations and funnel insights.
