Five Guys, a nationally recognized quick‑service restaurant chain, needed a way to lower HVAC operating costs while maintaining customer and employee comfort across its locations. Franchise owner Neal Starling partnered with Turntide Technologies to pilot the Turntide Smart Motor System as a targeted solution for rooftop unit (RTU) efficiency and sustainable operations.

Turntide Technologies replaced the two RTU motors at a Montgomery, AL Five Guys with two Turntide Smart Motor Systems (2x 3HP V01/P04) and deployed remote and energy monitoring kits (RMK‑001, EMK‑001) for measurement and verification. Turntide’s solution delivered up to a 70% annual energy reduction (19,174 kWh), $2.3K in yearly energy savings, a 1.6‑year payback, and environmental benefits equivalent to 1,529 gallons of gas, 16.6 acres of forest, and 13.6 metric tons of CO2; the success prompted rollout to two additional Five Guys locations.
