Yoorrook Justice Commission launches a lasting public record in 2-week sprints with Tundra

The Yoorrook Justice Commission, the first formal truth-telling inquiry into injustices experienced by First Peoples in Victoria, needed a lasting digital platform to house its findings and stories with deep cultural respect. Tundra was engaged to design and develop this Official Public Record website, facing the challenge of creating more than just an archive but a platform that honours voices, serves diverse audiences, and supports real-world impact.

Tundra conducted extensive research and co-design workshops with the Commission and First Peoples communities to shape the strategy. They delivered a fully responsive, accessible website featuring a story-driven structure, a visual identity extended with custom First Nations art, and a trauma-informed content approach. The resulting digital archive, managed by Tundra, ensures the Commission's work lives on as a trusted resource for all Victorians and contributes to First Peoples' self-determination by placing the stewardship of their records and narratives in their hands.
