Tulip helped ChefSteps improve traceability and speed without diverting engineers from core products

ChefSteps, maker of the Joule Sous Vide and Joule Ready prepared foods, needed to improve traceability during a new product introduction without increasing production or diverting its engineering team. Faced with a build-versus-buy decision, ChefSteps chose Tulip and its no-code manufacturing app platform—leveraging digital work instructions and IoT-enabled tracking—to replace inflexible shipping software and reliably record item serial numbers.

Tulip delivered guided work-instruction apps and IoT integrations (barcode scanners, label printers, tablets) tied to ChefSteps’ order management system to pick, pack, record serials, print labels, and automatically capture process data. The Tulip solution streamlined shipping operations, improved end-to-end traceability, shortened shipping cycles, preserved engineering resources for core products, and produced measurable improvements (key metric shown: 91.31%).
