Taza Teams up with Tulip to Improve Process Visibility through Brownfield Machine Monitoring

Taza Chocolate, a Somerville bean‑to‑bar chocolatier processing nearly 800,000 pounds of chocolate annually, needed better production visibility to meet a ~30% output target after winning a major retail account. Much of Taza’s equipment was analog and created “islands of data,” so they partnered with Tulip to add connectivity — specifically Tulip’s plug‑and‑play IoT analog machine monitoring — to gain real‑time insight into their lines.

Tulip attached sensors and deployed Tulip analytics and inline apps to track RPM, cycle time, OEE, temperature/humidity and other KPIs, enabling root‑cause notes and shop‑floor dashboards. As a result, Tulip delivered full process visibility, increased uptime and real‑time analytics, helped Taza boost pieces produced per shift by 15%, and avoided the cost of buying additional machines.
