A Tulip Case Study
Swift Components, a manufacturer of acoustical and thermal attenuation components for Tier 1 automotive suppliers (serving Honda, Toyota and others), needed to meet new IATF quality requirements after signing a deal with Honda. Their existing pen-and-paper production logs and Excel workflows could not provide the detailed heat settings, productivity, scrap tracking, and lot traceability data required, and would have forced them to hire a full-time analyst to maintain dashboards. They turned to Tulip for a combined data collection and analytics solution.
Tulip delivered a shop-floor platform with custom apps and dashboards for logging heat settings, shift productivity (including approvals and shift-level verification), bin-based scrap capture, and lot traceability — all viewable in real time. With Tulip, Swift Components met IATF requirements without restructuring their operations team or hiring a dedicated Excel operator, gained better control of data, can track downtime by cause, identify root causes of material defects, and produce production run summaries and client-facing dashboards.
