A Tulip Case Study
Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF) faced the challenge of launching greenfield production for its gita robot—a complex assembly with about 150 unique parts—without existing manufacturing processes or tribal knowledge. To scale from prototype to production and give new operators repeatable digital work instructions and training, PFF selected Tulip (opting for Tulip over a traditional MES) to build out apps and workflows as the line was being constructed.
Tulip delivered a scalable platform of apps and digital work instructions that captured baseline production metrics (cycle times, flow rates, takt times, defect counts) and provided end-to-end traceability across the operation. Using Tulip, PFF can quickly adjust processes, identify and resolve defects and runtime issues, and apply production learnings to new products—enabling more repeatable builds, faster problem resolution, and a data-driven ramp to scale.
