Virgin Media was struggling with an ageing Check Point and Nokia firewall estate and an unwieldy rule base that caused frequent stability problems, high CPU/memory load, and prevented daytime changes. Tufin delivered unified visibility, change tracking and rule/object usage analytics that let Virgin Media safely remove about 100 unused rules and pinpoint that the least-used 10% of rules consumed roughly 15% of CPU. As a result, firewall CPU/memory performance improved ~15%, the network team reclaimed an estimated 30% of their time, and Virgin Media could resume making changes during the business day while maintaining more up-to-date, secure firewall software.
