REWE Systems - Customer Case Study

REWE Systems faced the twin retail challenges of growing online competition and difficulty recruiting and retaining staff while needing faster, more sustainable ways to boost in-store product knowledge and advisory skills. Working with vendor tts, REWE Systems opted for a mobile learning approach that leverages existing in-store tablets and an interface to the company LMS to deliver short, on-the-job training at the point of sale.

tts implemented a beacon-driven mobile learning solution — a “digital scavenger hunt” that pushes product information, quizzes and notifications to tablets as trainees move through the store — enabling real-time content updates when products change. The pilot increased trainee engagement, lowered costs for formal qualifications by shifting learning into the store, and proved highly scalable and accepted by staff; the REWE Systems and tts project was honored with the Human Resources Excellence Award for Knowledge Management.
