Case Study: German Customs Investigation Bureau (Zoll/ZKA) cuts further-training time and costs with tts e‑learning

A tts Case Study

Preview of the Zoll Case Study

How the German Customs Investigation Bureau (ZKA) transitioned most of its INZOLL classroom training to web-based training (WBTs)

Zoll (the German Customs Investigation Bureau, ZKA) manages the INZOLL knowledge system used by some 5,200 customs officials and faced lengthy, recurring classroom training (five-day and one-day courses) to keep staff current. Seeking to cut the time and cost of continuous education and to avoid repeated follow-up sessions after INZOLL updates, Zoll engaged tts to create web-based trainings embedded in the LIFE learning and help system, using tts knowledge force.

tts produced modular, interactive web-based trainings (initially 1,080 minutes) that mirror classroom didactics while allowing self-paced, role-specific learning with exercises and practice links. The tts solution enabled Zoll to replace much classroom instruction, reduce further-training costs and administrative burden, improve INZOLL acceptance and data quality, and provide comprehensive documentation for its 5,200 users.
