How Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) has established an SAP training environment and used it to implement blended learning

Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), a large transport and rail organization in Switzerland, needed a more effective way to train 1,000–2,000 employees across the country in German, French, and Italian during major SAP rollout projects. Classic in-person training was too costly and time-consuming, so SBB looked for a scalable blended learning approach using tts and the tts performance suite.

With tts, SBB introduced blended learning by using web-based training (WBT) to cover the basics, while in-person sessions focused on deeper, role-specific topics. The solution also included training documentation and SAP simulations created with the tts performance suite, plus a dedicated SAP training environment and “playground” system for safe practice. Results included lower training costs, shorter in-person courses, improved access to up-to-date documentation after training, and the ability to extend the model to standard SAP training modules.
