sweetgreen, the fast‑growing seasonal restaurant chain with 100+ locations and more than 3,500 employees, needed to maintain food safety, supplier transparency and end‑to‑end traceability across a highly decentralized, farm‑to‑fork supply chain. Facing challenges from incidents like romaine contamination and the operational pressures of COVID‑19, sweetgreen sought a system to standardize supplier data, surface food quality issues quickly, and provide lot‑level traceability. Trustwell was brought in to provide that traceability and supplier‑management capability.

Trustwell implemented a centralized supplier management solution (Manage + Monitor) and an end‑to‑end Track + Trace capability to give sweetgreen real‑time visibility into lots and affected stores. The solution let the team rapidly identify and isolate compromised product, substitute items and update menus to protect customers, while systemizing supplier data and supporting local growers. With Trustwell’s platform, sweetgreen improved response speed and supply‑chain transparency — and continues its broader community impact, having donated over 100,000 meals to more than 130 hospitals during the pandemic.
