Trustwave’s Consulting and Professional Services Helps the UK Ministry of Defence Prepare to Defend Against a Cyberattack

The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence engaged Trustwave to help adopt the NIST Cybersecurity Framework but needed a fresh, practical way to train military and civilian decision-makers beyond the standard, PowerPoint-heavy materials. The MoD sought behavioral change in risk identification and incident response, so Trustwave’s Consulting and Professional Services proposed and developed a tailored Crisis Simulation built around NIST principles to meet that need.

Trustwave delivered three half-day NIST Crisis Simulation workshops at Army Headquarters, each attended by 40–50 personnel, using scenarios tied to a cyberattack on a corporate system and facilitated by Trustwave consultants, including former UK military staff. The tailored approach boosted engagement and credibility, prompted the Army to contract Trustwave for 10 additional workshops, and positioned Trustwave as a preferred supplier for future MoD cybersecurity work.
