Private Hong Kong Hospital - Customer Case Study

Private Hong Kong Hospital, a private R&D and patient-care facility in Hong Kong, faced the growing risk that cyberattacks could steal sensitive research and patient data or disrupt critical medical systems. To address gaps in crisis management beyond perimeter defenses, the hospital engaged Trustwave to help test and improve its readiness using a custom tabletop drill exercise.

Trustwave ran a simulated breach tabletop exercise that walked hospital leadership through escalating scenarios, producing concrete recommendations to: adopt proactive risk-management actions, strengthen incident response and escalation procedures, and formalize crisis communications. As a result of Trustwave’s engagement, the hospital formalized verification and escalation processes, broadened cyber crisis ownership beyond IT, and gained a clearer, actionable crisis response plan that strengthens patient-care continuity (qualitative improvements documented in the exercise outcomes).
