Case Study: A Latin American state achieves zero new breaches and 99% server uptime with Trustwave Web Application Firewall

A Trustwave Case Study

Preview of the Latin American State Case Study

Latin American State - Customer Case Study

The Latin American State, which supports more than 60 externally facing websites for services like tax payments and vehicle registrations, faced escalating attacks—about 40% of inbound activity was malicious—and had suffered two breaches amid a small IT staff and an inflexible web security setup. To address these risks the government turned to Trustwave and implemented the Trustwave Web Application Firewall to replace its inadequate, one-size-fits-all solution.

Trustwave’s Web Application Firewall immediately improved monitoring and blocking of attacks, automatically alerted administrators to weak code before deployment, and exposed insecure developer practices that had left databases vulnerable. As a result of Trustwave’s solution the state experienced zero new breaches, server uptime rose to 99% (from under 90%), and overall risk exposure dropped sharply while routine security tasks that once took days or weeks are now automated or completed in minutes.
