How Augmedix Uses Trustwave MDR to Protect Vital Personal Healthcare Information

Augmedix, a San Francisco–based medical documentation company that captures sensitive personal health information via smartphones and Google Glass, struggled to keep pace with the flood of alerts in its SIEM and needed real-time monitoring and incident response. After finding its existing SIEM and in-house options insufficient, Augmedix engaged Trustwave to provide its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service.

Trustwave onboarded Augmedix onto its MDR platform (including the Fusion interface) over about three months, working closely with Augmedix security staff through weekly meetings and an assigned account manager. Trustwave’s MDR now provides continuous monitoring, transparent reporting and active response — notably detecting and blocking malware delivered via a phishing email — materially improving Augmedix’s incident visibility and protection of patient data.
