How Product Reviews increased Legeakademiet’s revenue by 4.43%

Legeakademiet is a Danish online educational toy store founded in 2005 by a small team dedicated to helping kids learn through play. They had used Trustpilot for years but in 2019 wanted to test whether adding Product Reviews would boost sales — a challenge made harder because fewer than 20% of their products had reviews and they initially implemented only star ratings (no full written reviews).

Working with agency S360 they A/B tested product star ratings sitewide (listings, recommendations, product pages and cart). Over a 91‑day test the reviews variant emerged stronger, driving a 4.43% revenue increase (about €200k extra turnover), ~5% higher conversion on Mobile and Desktop, a 5.39% larger average basket on Tablet, and clear benefits for product selection and customer insight; Legeakademiet now plans to collect more reviews, add written reviews and roll the feature out to Norway.
