C Finance’s Meddelandelan.se is a Swedish short-term loan service operating since 2006 that had strong customer satisfaction (NPS 40) but faced widespread industry mistrust and negative social feedback that hurt its marketing and brand perception. The challenge was to prove transparency and reliability in an industry frequently criticized by media and skeptical consumers.

The team implemented Trustpilot in 2014 and placed customer reviews prominently on the homepage, then ran an A/B test: the variation with Trustpilot reviews above the fold lifted conversions by 8.04%, projecting about €192,000 in additional annual revenue. With a 9.2 TrustScore, five-star ratings and ~1,100 reviews, C Finance now converts roughly 35% of visitors into loan applicants and plans to expand review use and continue A/B testing.
