London Metropolitan University streamlines remote student verification for 10,000 enrolments a year with TrustID

London Metropolitan University, a large higher education institution, faced the challenge of verifying the identities of new students remotely after the pandemic prevented traditional in-person enrollment. To address this, they selected TrustID and implemented their Cloud service with face matching to streamline remote identity document validation.

The TrustID solution allowed students to upload ID documents and a selfie via a secure link, which the system then verified using facial biometrics and liveness detection. This partnership prevented fraudulent applications and provided a secure, efficient enrollment process, with the university successfully stopping at least one attempt using a fraudulent document. TrustID's service gave the enrollment team confidence in the verification process and eliminated the need for face-to-face transactions.
