University of Illinois Chicago Campus Housing, which aims to create a vibrant living environment through open communication, faced low response rates to email and students missing application and contract deadlines. Wanting a more effective way to reach students—85% of whom prefer text reminders—they looked for a modern solution to improve timely completion of housing paperwork.
Trumpia worked with UIC to add texting opt‑in to the application process and text‑enable their landline for two‑way conversations, allowing reminders and quick student support. The results were dramatic: of roughly 40,000 students, nearly 99% opted in to texting, driving much higher engagement and a positive impact on application and contract completion.
