A Trumpia Case Study
Jack’s Surfboards, a Southern California retailer founded in 1957 with seven stores, needed a better way to reach a diverse customer base — from local, on-the-go shoppers who respond best to texts to out-of-town customers who shop online after seeing Facebook or email. Before Trumpia they only captured emails at checkout, struggled to manage opt-ins and segment by store or location, and couldn’t run timely, targeted promotions.
Using Trumpia, Jack’s quickly built an SMS opt-in database (text JACKS to 69302) and ran coordinated SMS/MMS, email and voice campaigns — including a TOMS “Style Your Sole” event where 4,023 texts and 8,114 emails were sent the day before the sale. In one month they sent five campaigns (about 50,000 emails and 13,000 SMS for $215), generating $6,000 in five hours from 140 pairs sold (and 140 donated), while improving list capture, saving time with a unified dashboard, and boosting foot traffic, sales and online purchases.
