NASASpaceFlight, a leading online spaceflight news outlet with over 500,000 monthly readers and a YouTube channel of 400,000+ subscribers, needed a reliable way to produce professional live newscasts. During weekly live shows, hosts and remote guests were moving around the on-screen layout as participants joined and left; their tests with Zoom could not lock participant positions, so NASASpaceFlight sought a conferencing solution that would freeze speaker panes and preserve a consistent broadcast look. They implemented TrueConf in 2021 to address this need.

NASASpaceFlight integrated their graphics package with TrueConf’s advanced real-time meeting manager, pulling a TrueConf RTSP feed into OBS, cropping individual guest feeds, and placing those crops into their branded graphics for YouTube. TrueConf enabled fixed participant positions, multiple and assignable layouts, and seamless transitions as guests joined or left, allowing NASASpaceFlight to deliver a more professional, uninterrupted weekly newscast watched live by thousands and better perceived by their large audience. TrueConf’s solution restored layout continuity and improved the overall viewer experience.
