Department of Justice and Home Affairs - Customer Case Study

The Department of Justice and Home Affairs, a Zurich state department with about 1,800 employees, faced high costs and safety risks from transporting prisoners and witnesses to court—leasing vehicles, staff overtime and fuel expenses, plus dangerous escort situations. To address the need for secure, on-premises video hearings with full data encryption and session recording, the department selected TrueConf and its TrueConf Server solution.

TrueConf Server was deployed across prisons and courtrooms (45 user accounts), integrated with Active Directory, compatible with SIP/H.323 devices, and runs on a private network without Internet access. The easy-to-administer system (installed on Windows PCs with webcams) automated recording and enabled remote hearings, reducing transport time and travel costs, improving security, increasing workload capacity for judges and officers, and allowing multiple inmates from different locations to appear without extra holding cells.
