RSA, a FTSE 100 insurer, faced the urgent need to replace its aging SNA-based messaging infrastructure after IBM announced withdrawal of SNA support. RSA had been using TrueCommerce UK’s VAN EDI mailboxes (Information Exchange) alongside a direct contract with GXS for Tradanet, and engaged TrueCommerce to propose a managed EDI platform to consolidate and simplify its messaging and charging model.

TrueCommerce implemented a single managed EDI platform (consolidating the two VANS) on schedule in early 2009, providing greater message visibility, easier access to management information, a simplified charging/contract model, and ongoing helpdesk and problem management. The consolidated TrueCommerce solution now supports some 4,000–5,000 RSA-affiliated brokers, improved operational flexibility, and delivered measurable cost and administration savings through one contract and streamlined MI delivery.
