C.E. Smith Company, a precision metal stampings and parts manufacturer, needed to eliminate manual rekeying of web (B2C) orders into its Global Shop Solutions ERP while already managing B2B EDI requirements. The company had used TrueCommerce EDI since 2005 and turned to TrueCommerce’s Nexternal eCommerce platform to provide an integrated eCommerce + EDI solution that could feed orders directly into ERP.

TrueCommerce implemented Nexternal plus Transaction Manager to route web and EDI orders into Global Shop Solutions, creating a single-vendor integration that removed redundant data entry, improved accuracy and simplified support. The change handled C.E. Smith’s 250–300 weekly EDI orders, reduced processing time for 200–300 SKU orders to minutes, avoided the need to hire an estimated four to six additional account staff, and paid for itself within about six months.
