Aircraft Manufacturer Reduces Costs and Improves Service by Integrating Order Processing End-to-End

AeroVironment, Inc., a global leader in unmanned aircraft systems and EV charging solutions, faced a growing eCommerce and B2B order volume but had a key bottleneck: orders from its TrueCommerce Nexternal eCommerce storefronts and Amazon were being manually rekeyed into Oracle E-Business Suite, and it needed automated EDI capability (including Volvo-specific DELFOR/DESADV flows) to scale. To address this, AeroVironment engaged vendor TrueCommerce to leverage the TrueCommerce Nexternal eCommerce Platform together with integrated TrueCommerce EDI for Oracle EBS.

TrueCommerce implemented an end-to-end solution that bridged Nexternal and Oracle and enabled EDI transactions with Volvo (supporting six Volvo sites and roughly 10–20 EDI orders per day, plus 940/856/945/DESADV workflows). The integration automated order processing, eliminated the need for two full‑time employees to rekey orders, reduced order errors and customer service calls, sped deployment of new storefronts, and effectively automated the majority of EV charging station sales.
