Advantage Sales & Marketing (ASM), a $1.4B consumer packaged goods sales and marketing company serving 1,200+ clients, needed a modern Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) platform because its highly customized legacy system and limited vendor support could not scale to meet client expectations. ASM chose TrueCommerce Datalliance’s VMI platform to replace the legacy system and support outsourced VMI program execution across its retail and distribution customers.
TrueCommerce Datalliance was implemented smoothly with parallel operations and strong customer care, enabling ASM to run VMI for 20+ clients, 130+ distribution locations and over 11,000 SKUs. The transition preserved or improved performance during a busy start-up period — for one client a 63.7% holiday demand increase was met while turns rose 15% (16.6 → 19.1) and service improved from 96.9% to 97.4% — and overall ASM delivered improved service levels, equivalent inventory turns, added new clients, and eliminated legacy-system costs.
