The Department of Justice and FBI Phoenix faced the challenge of investigating complex "pig butchering" scams and other crypto frauds, where victims lost millions of dollars. To assist in tracing and seizing the illicit funds, they worked with TRM Labs and its TRM Forensics product.
TRM Labs provided the investigative solution, enabling law enforcement to unwind a huge, commingled network of crypto transactions and follow the fraud proceeds to cash-out points. As a result, the agencies successfully executed seizure warrants amounting to $112 million, a significant recovery for the victims and a major disruption to crypto-related fraud.
