A Trivantis Case Study
Michigan Virtual University (MVU) is a nonprofit created by the State of Michigan to advance online learning and operates the Michigan Virtual School and Michigan LearnPort professional development portal. When launching LearnPort, MVU needed accessible, engaging courses for teachers and administrators that supported multimedia (audio, video, images, Flash), worked with screen readers, and offered advanced branching and tracking.
Executive Director David Myers selected Lectora for its flexibility and ability to build complex, screen‑reader‑friendly courses without custom programming. MVU has since created more than 30 courses (10–35 hours each) with multimedia and breadcrumb tracking, serves over 45,000 registered LearnPort users, and reduced costs by producing high‑quality courses in‑house.
