How MPHI Created Mobile-friendly eLearning Using Lectora

MPHI (Michigan Public Health Institute) is a non-profit that supports public health practice; Training and Development Manager Laurie Taylor and developer Jane Boyden were tasked with converting two PowerPoint-based, prerecorded training webcasts for the State of Michigan into a mostly video-based, mobile-friendly eLearning course—“Building Healthy Communities”—that added interactivity, knowledge checks and improved tracking for a wide audience using many device types.

Using Lectora Inspire 16 with Responsive Course Design, Camtasia and eLearning Brothers templates, MPHI converted the webcasts into two modules (three and four videos), added intro pages and quiz questions, and launched the course through CourseMill with Advanced Reports. The result was a polished, mobile-friendly course with better completion data, higher learner engagement and client satisfaction from the State of Michigan, reduced help-desk issues, and plans to release the course nationally to boost reach and completion rates.
