The State of Minnesota Office of Enterprise Technology (OET) is the central IT organization charged with protecting citizens’ information and setting statewide security standards across more than 70 executive agencies. OET needed a centrally managed, enterprise-class vulnerability solution to give each agency a consistent view of security, exert centralized control over IT infrastructure, streamline information sharing, and produce comparative risk reports.

After evaluating options, OET deployed Tripwire IP360 to provide enterprise-wide vulnerability management, scanning roughly 150,000 networked devices. The program reduced redundancies across agencies, delivered comparative, enterprise-level security metrics, supported NIST 800-53 and FISMA requirements, enabled continuous monitoring, and generated cost savings by using a common, centrally managed technology.
