Girl Scouts of Northern California - Customer Case Study

Girl Scouts of Northern California (GSNorCal), a 200‑person nonprofit that operates retail and mobile outlets and processes millions in cookie sales, needed to strengthen its security posture around card payments. The organization sought to exceed PCI DSS requirements, shorten the window of exposure between scans, increase the granularity of change detection, and define baseline configurations across its infrastructure, including endpoints and point‑of‑sale systems.

GSNorCal deployed Tripwire Enterprise (including File Integrity Manager) integrated with Tripwire Log Center, with FIM agents on servers and POS machines and Log Center polling Active Directory, firewalls, routers and switches for configuration and patch compliance auditing. The result was continual, more frequent scanning that helped GSNorCal surpass PCI DSS standards, shrink the vulnerability window, establish and maintain environment baselines, save time by automatically flagging critical changes, and embed a culture of ongoing compliance.
