A TripSpark Case Study
Quinte Access Transportation is a non-profit provider serving a large rural area in Southern Ontario with both fixed route and paratransit services. Facing 16–18% annual ridership growth—driven largely by seniors giving up driving—the small team struggled to keep trips on time, maintain safe driver communication under hands-free rules, manage congestion across two bridges, and give riders fast, reliable trip information in all seasons while controlling costs.
By implementing TripSpark’s paratransit suite—automated scheduling and reporting, in-vehicle AVL terminals (Rangers), the MyRide passenger app, and automated notifications—Quinte streamlined operations and replaced cellphone communication. The changes delivered faster boarding, electronic manifests and payment/no-show tracking, real-time vehicle tracking for riders and staff, hands-free compliance, lower administration costs, better reporting for funders, and the ability to grow ridership and revenue without adding expense.
