Success With GPS Student Tracking Services

Volusia County Student Transportation Services, a nationally recognized district that won the 2014 Larson Quality Award, needed a higher standard of monitoring and reporting to ensure strict safety protocols and reliable student tracking. Although routing and scheduling were already optimized for safety, the district sought a solution to verify real‑world route adherence, communicate accurate information to staff and parents, and ensure stops and driver actions met board policies.

Volusia implemented TripSpark’s GPS/AVL system with a Student Ridership program using RFID ID cards and keypad entry, fully integrated with their existing routing software and cloud backend. The system provides secure, real‑time bus and rider data—allowing remote monitoring of routes, faster incident response, automated reimbursement reporting, and analytics to reduce idling, fuel costs and improve overall efficiency and safety.
