Perfect Balance Between Customer Service and Productivity with Demand Response Software

Western Community Action’s Community Transit Program provides shared-ride public transportation across Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood, Cottonwood and Jackson counties in Minnesota, operating for 28 years with 20 lift-accessible buses and nearly 100 volunteer drivers. As dial-a-ride demand grew and services operated at capacity, the agency and its partners needed a more flexible, coordinated approach (including a new fixed route in Marshall) to ensure everyone who needed a ride could be served.

They implemented TripSpark’s browser-based paratransit scheduling and dispatch software, giving centralized dispatch offices and remote sites real-time connectivity, mapping and street-management tools, and custom reporting. The solution improved communication, handled complex fare rules, let dispatchers schedule around construction and closures to keep drivers on time, and reduced rider wait times while increasing productivity and reporting capabilities.
