A TripSpark Case Study
LifeCare Ambulance Service, founded in 1983, expanded its EMS and non-emergency services across 1,400 square miles in seven rural counties and added wheelchair vans, PERS monitoring, a regional 2-1-1 center and PACE transportation. As they prepared to handle PACE participants, they faced the need to schedule and dispatch over 5,400 monthly trips, capture and recall participant medical data, reduce no-shows and “canceled at the door” incidents, and avoid overloading dispatchers while keeping different client transport types separate.
LifeCare implemented TripSpark’s managed care scheduling software and the DriverMate in-vehicle app to provide real-time monitoring, digital manifests, driver status updates and separate views for trip types that PACE sites can access. The solution improved communication between drivers, dispatch and PACE schedulers, enabled real-time decisions to keep trips on time, reduced dispatcher workload, supported grievance tracking and participant satisfaction measurement, and scaled to support new PACE sites and an expanded fleet.
