Genesco steps into an automated financial reconciliation process

Genesco, a national specialty footwear retailer with over 1,400 locations, launched MarketPlace to sell merchandise online but ran into fragmented settlement cadences, inconsistent and non‑customizable POS/MarketPlace reporting, and unclear matching between POS, MarketPlace and the bank. These timing differences and excess reporting left the accounting team unsure whether transactions were paid and made reconciliations slow and error‑prone.

By implementing Trintech’s ReconNET, Genesco created a separate account and customized mapping for each MarketPlace site, treating each as its own bank account and automating data conversion and loading. Over three years this standardization helped identify and fix payment and process issues earlier, speed up problem resolution and cash collection, and handle changing mappings, tax/reporting challenges and new sites more efficiently.
