Bayer, a global life‑sciences leader, began migrating to SAP S/4HANA and found its self‑developed, SAP‑integrated financial tools couldn’t scale. Manual, disparate processes increased workload and audit risk—especially around journal entries—and cost pressures plus the need to accept inputs from non‑accounting systems like ServiceNow made a more compliant, transparent solution imperative.

Bayer implemented Trintech’s Cadency Platform in 2020 to standardize balance sheet reconciliations and the broader financial close, prioritizing compliance, audit trails, approvals and end‑to‑end workflow. Cadency was integrated alongside S/4HANA (minimizing custom SAP development) using a unified template and staged rollouts, closing R2R gaps—recurring entry workflows, journal ID verification and ServiceNow integration—and delivering improved efficiency, traceability and regulatory compliance while enabling an ongoing partnership to optimize the end‑to‑end process.
