BAE Systems Gains Greater Visibility and Control Over Balance Sheet Reconciliations by Standardizing and Automating Processes with Trintech

BAE Systems, a London-based multinational defense and aerospace contractor, struggled with fragmented, spreadsheet-driven balance sheet reconciliations across multiple ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Sage) and business units. The manual processes created inconsistent controls, limited visibility into risk and accuracy, and increased effort and reporting uncertainty.

To address this, BAE moved to a Shared Services model and deployed Trintech’s Cadency and ReconNET to standardize and automate reconciliations, integrating flat-file feeds and a bot to prepare and attach supporting documentation. The result: global, risk-based reconciliation controls with drill-down dashboards, over 300 automated bank reconciliations, about 13 hours saved per month plus prior headcount reductions, and improved timeliness and confidence in reporting.
