Avanti West Coast, a major UK train operator serving some 40 million journeys a year, faced a time-consuming, spreadsheet-driven cash reconciliation process across tens of thousands of daily shifts from ticket offices, on‑train sales and TVMs. With a lean team and limited drill‑down/auditability, the company needed assurance that every penny from ticket sales was banked and any discrepancies were tracked, reported and resolved.
In 2018 AWC implemented Adra by Trintech with eksi’s Hub to automate data collection, validation and high‑volume reconciliation for both cash and card/online transactions. Overnight imports and ERP (LENNON) integrations mean reconciliations run automatically and teams now work by exception — reducing headcount from four to two for the process, achieving 99% account balance rates, faster period closes, stronger governance and improved operator performance and reporting.
