Associated Bank, a division of Associated Banc‑Corp with nearly $22 billion in assets, more than 5,000 employees and roughly 300 branches across WI, IL and MN, doubled in size after a merger and centralized its accounting functions. The bank needed to eliminate virtually all manual account reconciliation work without adding staff, establish centralized management controls and reporting, ensure SOX compliance, and choose a scalable solution to support further growth and new services like ARP and Positive Pay.
Associated implemented Trintech’s T-Recs to automatically reconcile its general ledger and internal and external bank accounts and to compare balances across systems. The solution enabled daily reconciliations, faster problem resolution, redeployment of staff from routine tasks to exception management, addition of ARP and Positive Pay services, and robust audit trails and metrics for SOX and risk reporting—delivering clear productivity gains and centralized financial governance.
