A TriNimbus Case Study
Vancouver Airport Authority needed to move its airport customer system from an on-premise data center to AWS while maintaining high availability, scalability, security, and disaster recovery requirements. The environment included a central application with multiple databases and applications, more than 550 kiosks, and complex networking connections across airports.
TriNimbus recommended AWS and designed a phased migration using AWS Cloud Platform, AWS Virtual Private Cloud, EC2, ELB, Auto Scaling Groups, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation. The transition of all YVR customer airports to AWS was completed successfully, with several airports first migrated in beta and then the remaining airports moved to the platform; YVR also added 24/7 TriNimbus support for proactive monitoring, and the system has already been sold to 20 airport customers and processed over 21 million travellers.
