Expanding and Accelerating Research at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Blocker Burn Unit with TriNetX

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Health’s Blocker Burn Center needed a faster, more granular way to conduct burn research while navigating the institutional review board process. Using TriNetX’s Research Network, the team gained access to millions of de-identified patient records, including far more burn cases and longitudinal data than their previous datasets allowed.

With TriNetX, UTMB researchers were able to accelerate analysis and uncover new insights into burn-related conditions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis, including mortality variability and a broader range of causative drugs. The vendor helped UTMB expand its research program significantly, with 18 studies in progress and faster, easier study setup for medical students and faculty.
